Ottawa Karen Youth visited London, Ontario on August 31st, 2018 - September 3rd, 2018. The purpose of the trip is to engage our youth in sports, and to provide safe environment for our Karen youth. We are also hoping to decrease social isolation for our Karen youth, and engage them in activities, especially sports and short trips, which can provide more self confidence from our youth.
OKYC's team joined the Volleyball tournament in London, and the team won the tournament games with one 1st place's trophy, and two of the 2nd place's trophies.
This trip is supervised by our two program coordinators, Kelvin Sgaw, and Shar Kay Htoo. After the tournament's Volleyball games in London, our youth also had a chance to visit Niagara Fall for a short period of time, but they enjoyed every moment of the trip.
