On August 15th, 2018, OKYC hosted the first quarterly training for the youth at OKYC's office at 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm. This quarterly training focused specifically on the topic of job search, interview tips, resume writing, and details about programs for the youth that are available at Employment Ontario. The guest for this information session was Lise Bryar, Job Developer from Vanier Community Service Centre.
There were 17 youth attended the session, and everyone enjoyed their evening. The purpose of this evening session was to provide our Karen youth with networking opportunities, and programs that are available in our community centers. Majority of our youth do not know about the programs, and they are excited to learn about youth programs that available in our community.
The evening began with the group chatting with Lise, and she shared a lot of useful information and answers questions from the youth. Lise also practiced interview with one of our youth, and shared her experiences with the group. We ended the evening with eating pizza after the session, and the evening session with Employment Ontario went really well.
